The story behind Interactive Textbooks.
I started Interactive Textbooks in 2012 with the aim of creating apps aimed at GCSE and A level French and German students. As head of languages in a UK secondary school, I had a good grasp of what resources were needed to improve students' understanding and exam success.
I went part time from teaching to be able to do this, producing a range of learning apps. Eventually I fell completely in love with app development, and in 2018 I left teaching to become a full-time app developer for a TV company.
Unfortunately my health became an issue, with PoTS and chronic back pain following a discectomy, and I had to go part time to balance work with my limited physical capability. The first itLifestyle app, ScooterSpeed, was produced in my spare time, and it owes its existence to my own mobility issues.
Making apps is my passion, and hopefully you find them useful.
